Week of January 17 – New Year’s Resolutions

As we closed out on 2015 and rang in 2016, I went through the annual process of creating my own New Year’s resolutions.  Typically, my resolutions are focused on self-improvement: exercise more, eat a more balanced diet, get more sleep.  But as I did a little research, I was challenged to think about professional and corporate resolutions as well.

It makes sense.  A new year is an opportunity reflect on what we should stop doing or start doing. Even Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is in on it, resolving to develop artificial intelligence to help him run his home and manage his work.

While I do not know how feasible his resolution is, it does touch on a recurring theme I saw in many of the lists of professional resolutions: Resolutions to better use data and technology to effectively run and grow businesses

With so much data available and the continued rapid evolution of technology, it can be overwhelming to identify areas where we can realistically make meaningful differences to the bottom line. The answer is often in a more focused question. Rather than trying to boil the ocean, could we focus on one area of our business and make an immediate impact using the data at our fingertips and the best available technology?

We think so – and that’s exactly what we do at Healthcare Horizons.  If you could identify 1-2% savings in your healthcare claims cost using your data and best-in-class technology, why wouldn’t you? We’ve been able to save our clients millions of dollars, with little to no risk on their part.  If you’d like to talk about how we can help you, I would love to chat.
