Data Management Specialist

Summary/Objectives

Healthcare Horizons, an industry-leader in healthcare claims auditing for self-insured employers, is seeking a qualified Data Management Specialist  to join our team. This individual will be responsible for assisting Healthcare Horizons clients with analysis of large data sets utilizing SQL and other reporting tools.

Essential Functions

  1. Experience with T-SQL, SSMS, SSRS, SSIS
  2. Create and maintain SQL databases.
  3. Import and validate text files, manage data sets, create and execute queries.
  4. Analyze data to assess the accuracy of claims payments.
  5. Identify trends and anomalies within claims data and perform root cause analysis.
  6. Data conversion and reporting. Communicate audit results in a structured report format.
  7. Use statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic or predictive analytic efforts.
  8. Perform all job duties in accordance with HIPAA safety and security rules as it relates to protected health information.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel

 No travel required.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, computer science, or mathematics.
  2. 3 to 5 years of experience working in a corporate setting with SQL databases. Experience with SQL or other analytical tool(s) for examining large volume of data required for successful candidates
  3. Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures, and ability to write SQL queries without assistance
  4. Proficiency with MS Office Suite

 Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Experience with R or Python helpful.
  2. Experience working in a healthcare environment.
  3. Familiarity with medical terminology and ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS.
